I think if you follow the footsteps of Randolph Allen St James II on linkedin and Brookstreet Hollins history, (as well as their portfolio and other companies listed there you'll also find most of their portfolio listed as FF strategic partners).
In 2015 BH created a CleanTech Fund.
We know FF has $$$ behind it to be able to pay $1M to QMC as well as accomplish other objectives.
On avg, most companies initially listed on AIM have a value between $25 - $500 M pounds.
We've seen no sign of actual product being sold, but we know QMC is tweaking multiple levels and applications, (and have a yr to meet objectives).
Most likely the other Partners aren't working for free either.
FF would need a source for backing for financial endeavors and to achieve goals.
That seems to indicate that the strategic partners are funding; perhaps through the CleanTech Fund as potential sh or mayhap via pre-orders for desired projects.
....jmo; think your way
