That would be my guess too. If Mr. Heddle announces a definitive agreement, that tells me he's committed to developing the plot for a new story. He can then describe success and progress for at least a year or so before 'bad luck' strikes again and the deal vanishes. A new story would have to be coupled with a reverse split and issuance of more shares, though, otherwise his effort won't do him much good.
