The guys on this board own the float already plus a chunk of the illusiory shares
The shorts don't want to create any more illusions that they will later have to cover - and they don't want to raise the ask up to the point where there actually might be some shares for sale...because posting sales significantly out of their controlled price range destroys their narrative and their game plan.
