I have a cash account with Scotty and was told my shares cannot be borrowed for shorting purposes. Only shares in margin accounts may be borrowed. From that, I assumed margin shares need to be locked to keep them from being borrowed, but cash account shares do not. Have I been misled? Too many conflicting viewpoints here and elsewhere, what is really the truth?
