I can think of numerous examples where a company creates something but they neither have the resources nor the ability to market and sell the product.
They license the product and voila.
People have complained about OWC's website...yes it is poor...but they are not in the business to make a spalsh...
They are in the bsuiness to create from science and research viable products which can then be marketed and sold by third parties.
