Thanks Bruce, this confirms my thinking and actually goes one step further in indicating the trial is fully enrolled. The point that no volunteers were being solicited by the clinical trials filing is no problem, but they simply should update the database to say the trial is fully subscribed.
If I properly understand the trial, it requires eight weeks of observations. If the note you received from the company can be taken as an indication that all volunteers for the trial were not only identified, but have all initiated the protocol by March 12th, the trial could be completed mid May, well ahead of the July date indicated in the clinical trials database. Of course from the note you received it didn't state that all had begun the trial, just that they were all identified.
I would suspect that in a trial of this nature where all the volunteers in the trial are healthy and it's being done in a major hospital that many, if not all the volunteers are members of the staff there. With only 26 volunteers required, I don't think it took more than a few days to fully enroll the trial. I have no idea what compensation is given volunteers, but I'd suspect they see something for agreeing to go on this protocol.
