Plug Power, the Latham, New York, fuel cell manufacturer, raised $15.75 million on Wednesday.
Tech Opportunities LLC exercised warrants to purchase 10.5 million shares of Plug Power stock at $1.50 per share, according to regulatory documents.
The company, which does not have much of an online presence, is registered in New York County and was incorporated in 2013. Tech Opportunities shares an address, 777 Third Ave., 30th Floor, New York, with Hudson Bay Capital Management. Hudson Bay is an SEC-registered investment manager that has a 9.99 percent passive stake in Plug Power.
Hudson Bay declined through a spokesman to comment on this story.
Tech Opportunities has the option to purchase another 5.25 million shares at $2.69 a share. That would raise more than $14 million.
