Reserve estimates have increased every decade
they will never pull all of the oil out of the ground,,,the US could easily be oil independent if we didn't buy the cheapest stuff from the middle east which sits on the surface and costs nothing to produce.
There is generally an equal amount of refining capacity to world usage which more or less balances the price, but the world could be awash in excess oil if that were desirable.
