True story from a BMXC investor.
I've done business in countries that barely have street signs and the buildings and business don't even have a posted address on them. The postal delivery guy just has to memorize the entire areas where he delivered to.
I did one delivery to Thailand recently and the U.P.S. delivery guy couldn't find the delivery address on his computer so he just picked another address and tried to deliver our package to this random address and the people kept refusing to sign for it, stating the name on the package doesn't work there.
After about a week, they emailed me and said no such location exists and are returning our package. I had to give them the phone number of the local Thai person who was supposed to sign for it and those two worked it out.
Another time I was expecting a package from Pakistan. After a week of it being late and tracking info saying it was delivered, I finally found that they delivered it to the Italian restaurant down the street. Why did they do that? In 3rd world/emerging countries you learn not to ask "why" because you won't get a logical answer.
It's just not a clear cut landscape everywhere. The majority of companies in these countries don't have an internet footprint. Many don't even have an office.
I don't have an office or an internet footprint and I do business on multiple continents. If you googled any of my holdings, apart from business registrations, you would think I don't exist. No website or mailing address to be found. Two cell phones and a laptop is it and I do business and can live anywhere on the planet.
I think the bashers are over reacting to this address issue.
