A Congressman Paid Tribute to Rapper Notorious B.I.G on the House Floor
Well, here's something you don't see every day on the House floor.
Rapper Notorious B.I.G was remembered Thursday on the 20th anniversary of his murder by New York Democrat Rep. Hakeem Jeffries.
Standing in front of a picture of Biggie Smalls, whose real name was Christopher Wallace, Jeffries called him the "king of New York."
Jeffries, who represents the Brooklyn district where Wallace grew up, then recited the lyrics to Smalls' 1994 hit song Juicy.
"His rags-to-riches life story is the classic embodiment of the American dream. Biggie Smalls is gone, but he will never be forgotten," said Jeffries.
The 24-year-old rap icon was fatally shot in Los Angeles on March 9, 1997. The case remains unsolved.
