Honestly if the routes they are planning on have such a large advantage as the JFK St. Petersburg route (BLTA would beat current flight times on this route by 2 hours 50 minutes per google flight) we would be in good shape. Maybe they will get exclusive routes again like they did with JFK St Petersburg route how awesome would that be.
Example--Leaving March 1 from JFK to St. Petersburg the shortest flight with 1 stop is 10 hours 50 minutes from Finnair. BLTA wants to do it in 8 hours.
