Philip Gay (CBDO of GIGL) was the CFO of California Pizza who helped them grow from 3 restaurants to 100+. This article I read on the history of California Pizza Kitchen has a history very similar to GIGL. They started slow with some financial trouble then flew to the moon with development of a new location a month.
