Many major companies on stock exchanges have other 3rd parties vested in their company and into the share price. If anything, this should help the company further.

And yes, of course this comes with expectations. Just like any company though, if you don't step up, you better step down because your reputation is at stake. At some point though, stepping up is a must in order for the company to take the next step anyways.

In other words, the inevitable has to happen in order to reach the next exchange and that begs possible institutional buyers.
