GIGL COO look at his history below read the last few PRs something is cooking
GIGL President John Kaufman prior success he has built and grown companies in the past look for GIGL to see thesame growth.
Growth and recognition of this caliber are driven by a very powerful management team. Giggles N' Hugs President John Kaufman was the COO at California Pizza Kitchen when the founders had just two locations. Joined by Giggles N' Hugs' CFO Phillip Gay, who at the time was CFO of California Kitchen, Kaufman grew the company from two to more than 100 locations – at which time it was bought by Pepsi Co. Kaufman was recruited as president of Koo Koo Roo Chicken, one of the fastest growing fast-casual concepts on the west coast, while Gay joined Wolfgang Puck Restaurants group as CFO, eventually becoming the CEO.

what happened was...
1. Giggles N' Hugs President John Kaufman (when he was the COO at California Pizza Kitchen with just two locations) and CFO Phillip Gay, together they grew the Pizza franchise late 1980s to early 90s) to over 100 locs
2. then Pepsi bought a 67% stake in 1992... PepsiCo paid $100M for that
3. then a private equity firm bought out Pepsi's 67% stake so that they could take the chain public
4. Shares in California Pizza Kitchen first traded on the Nasdaq Aug2'00 as "CPKI". Pepsi AGAIN then bought back in (another 17% stake or so whilst CPKi was public)... certified gluten-free pizzas must have been hot
5. years later July 7'11 Golden Gate Capital (via an affiliate) completed a full buyout @ $18.50/share ($470M), taking CPK private again.
that was the beginning of high profile LBOs by private equity - (Leveraged Buy-Outs)
