I suppose the same was said by the buggy whip industry when public roads were subsidized for the benefit of the auto industry and again when the National Interstate System was subsidized for the growth suburbs and shopping malls.
Before that I suppose the Indians were upset by the Great White Father's support/subsidizing of the transcontinental railroad.
And I'll bet that private colleges were upset by the 'land grants' that created public universities.
NASA was 'subsidized'. The microelectronics in your f*cking phone are one of the spin-offs.
You can pretend that some 'revolutionary spirit' is going to trump science but your arguments are political, and not very sound at that.
