Kalitta resigned for the same reason Trump resigned. Nobody's saying Trump's business will fail, in fact it'll be the opposite. It'll thrive because now Trump is in a position to influence businesses that can help his become more profitable.
Kalitta is no different. He joined the BoD, gave the company some much-needed CPR, and now Tony is at the wheel with a lease contract for a fantastic plane. Kalitta also gave us a very powerful attorney (George Kelsey).
His work as an advisor is done. He's going to profit from helping Baltia succeed, it's that simple. In short, he became a board member to put Baltia in a position where it could get certification going again, and when he put the pieces in place for Tony, he resigned. Now Tony has everything he needs (and some).
