The SEC is way to parsimonious or petty, except for their penchant for a short workweek and outsized benefit and retirement packages along with management's cozy revolving door policy of rewarding themselves cushy jobs with investment firms after neglecting the public interest to actually prosecute anyone that does not capture national media attention like Martha Stewart. Their exiguous (inadequate) legacy lends these Mako type criminals an arrogance that is both repulsive and costly to investors and patients alike. If I were Trump I'd think hard closing down the SEC entirely and consolidating their duties into a less inept prosecutorial agency that had the public interest in mind.
