IMHO it's a huge mistake to isolate oneself from divergent opinions. While I agree that there is little to be learned from pure bashers or pumpers if the filter is too great one may end up unduly influenced by one or the other. The Romans got it right in about 200 BC or so when they said 'everything in moderation is best'.
