My technique is rather different and way more profitable - keep the lower price ones and de-risk overall by selling the higher price holdings when they are 30%>100% up. This converts the cheapest ones to effectively "free".
That way you end up with a high share count of "free" lowest price ones to sell at leisure on the move in big runs in very small amounts in a manner that isn't even noticed.
That avoids the huge "do I - don't I decision" on large amounts which causes huge problems for everyone else.
