With all the bashing activity on iHub and the stacked ask appearing for no apparent reason, it may be that the shorters are still short.
They expected to be able to cover in the low .001xs with the whale bid filling when people sold for a tax loss but there was no significant sell off.
Hence the current tactic seen many times before - including at multiple price points in 2014.
