Here is the number of of indigenous peoples of Mexico
The absolute indigenous population of Mexico (26,694,928 individuals as of 2015)[227] is growing, but at a slower rate than the rest of the population so that the percentage of indigenous peoples in regards to total population is nonetheless falling

That equates to nearly 22% of their population.
Where as natives/native and mixed race equates to 1.6% of US population with 3 times the amount of people of Mexico.
