Oilfield Rental is a nice little business to get into. The key is to be willing to give better kick-backs than your competition. I have 4 diesel transfer pumps, a couple pneumatic cellar pumps, screen cleaners, and light plants that all stay rented. They have paid for themselves many times over. I've got a really good Mormon kid who does all my maintenance & sales calls for me. I give him 15% of the day-rate on all the equipment, & then I double it once a given piece of equipment has reached pay-out. I figure this will give him an extra incentive to keep the equipment in good shape. He is a real go-getter. In January we are going to get a pair of centrifuges from China & he thinks we need some fort-lifts, but I don't want to go too fast, maybe once I get these Chinese Centrifuges paid off.
