They are trying to do a lot more with coil tubing these days because of the flexibility and lower cost.  The equipment isn't as much as standard pipe but the services are really expensive.  Its kind of like insurance.  Coil tubing services are usually a day rate so the faster they work the cheaper it is.  With Standard pipe you still pay a day rate but its probably 1/5 of the price.  But if pipe gets stuck in the hole that 4 grand a day turns into 100 grand for damaged equipment.
