OT: There are plenty of ways to buy meat (and eggs) that don't involve the animals being tortured their entire lives, and then come to a bad end. It costs a bit more, but if enough people start buying ethically sourced meat and eggs, the cost will come down as producers can start getting economies of scale. I've noticed that the cost of true free-range organic eggs has been coming down within the past year as more producers have been changing the way they treat the animals.
