No one is suggesting that they should, but you're an autocrat feeling too much of your oats from a very slim margin of victory to suggest that they don't.
The economic might, GDP, represented in the areas you identified would, if they left the Union, leave the rest of the country bordering on 3rd world status.
There are many, many other technical, scientific, & educational capabilities that would be lost as well.
It won't take much to flip the counties in the swing States that were lost.
After all, look at the popular vote margin and the demographics that are moving inexorably against the GOP
