a 416 Billion GDP doesn't buy much for a country that doesn't function in a global banking system. With lower oil prices that number could go lower.
Those Ayatollah do need money to stay in power....maybe there is more moderate leadership in Iran...The Shah's seemed to have better relationship with Israel during their time in power.
