Issa: Trump Will Let AG, FBI Decide Future of Hillary Investigations

President-elect Donald Trump has not committed to pursuing investigations of Hillary Clinton, but that may not necessarily be good news for her, according to Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA).

On "Fox & Friends" this morning, Issa explained that he believes Trump will "get out of the business of prosecuting" and let the the FBI and his attorney general appointee, Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL), decide whether or not to pursue the Clinton probes.

Issa argued that the Trump administration should work to reestablish the independence of the Justice Department, something that was lost during the Obama administration.

"I think you're going to find a president who says, 'Let them do their job,'" Issa said. "He hasn't said she's innocent. That's a decision that needs to be made by the professionals."

Issa noted that Trump will have the ability to pardon Clinton, but that's a separate question from whether she and many others committed crimes related to her use of a private email server and an alleged pay-to-play scheme involving the Clinton Foundation.
