I can't see that happening. Even Trump, as an industrialist, would be well aware that such a policy would have reverse trade implications on the US. Most countries buying from Asia are paying import duties ranging from 3% to 20%, depending on type of product imported. Even with these levels of duty Asia is still a cheaper option. 45% is a little unrealistic but time will tell.
