Organization Helps Vets Find Employment in the Tech World
Iraq War vet Donald Coolidge joined Diana Falzone on Veterans Day to discuss Vets in Tech, a nonprofit organization that helps veterans re-integrate and find jobs in the technical community.
Coolidge, who directs the New York City chapter, said that many vets excel in the tech field, as they're good at making stressful decisions under pressure.
"A lot of veterans get into government work or policing, firefighting," Coolidge said. "The tech field is a great field. It's growing quickly ... And veterans do a great job at it."
He explained that veterans are typically "mission-driven" and "motivated," so the key fa ctor is finding additional opportunities for them in the private sector.
