Americans Oppose Trend Toward Black-Only Dorms

San Francisco State University is the latest school to begin offering “black-focused” dormitories for black students, but most Americans, black Americans included, oppose this trend and fear it could mark a return to segregation policies of pre-Civil Rights America.
A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 84% of American Adults disapprove of college housing that separates students on the basis of their race. Just eight percent (8%) approve. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

The survey of 1,000 American Adults was conducted on September 14-15, 2016 by Rasmussen Reports. The margin of sampling error is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence
