Tiny you are correct 4K was and is the entry point. Technically 4K is untapped by the consumer still with tons more this next year 2017 coming on board the 4K train! As far as VR its an incredible piece of technology but I have asked D. Foley his view on it and I have to agree with him and I'll quote him:
" I honestly don't think VR will take off other than gaming and demos. I'll explain my position when I have more terminal time but its very difficult for a movie to be in 360 and be enjoyable. Plus its a headache generator and people don't like headsets."
I posted last week that I had demo'd the Oculus Rift and it no doubt is amazing but I can't see my family and I all sitting watching a movie with goggles on for hours at a time.
Time will tell but in the foreseeable future I don't think NTEK will be focused on 360/view technology other than maybe gaming. Who knows how this could be implemented in NTGL though! Exciting times ahead!
