Concordia in talks to sell 'significant' minority stake to PE firm, Reuters says Canada-based generic drug marketer Concordia International is in talks to sell a minority stake to a private equity firm as an alternative to a leveraged buyout, Reuters reports, citing people familiar with the matter. In order to improve its balance sheet, the people say Concordia is speaking with private equity firms about possibly selling a "significant" equity stake; a stake sale would raise cash to ease the burden of Concordia's $3B in debt. The talks with the private equity firms comes after discussions about selling the company outright failed to produce a deal that the board deemed acceptable, the sources say. Concordia is up over 13% in afternoon trading.
