In 1993 I was given the name of a man in Denver, North Carolina, not too far from Charlotte, who raised servals, caracals, and arctic foxes that were around a 100 years removed from the wild. I nearly bought a serval for $150.00 but changed my mind for whatever reason. Servals are now being bred with domestic cats, usually the bengal cat, and their off spring are called Savannah cats. Savannah cats are easily selling for prices that reach into th thousands of dollars.
