Life is protected by Constitutional Law. Now where the controversy is, is in the interpretation of that law.
Wars had nothing to do with the Constitution. Religious freedom and separate of church and state does.
Those wars you refer to were orchestrated by the RCC. Because of that, at the time.You can then make the case the Constitution was written the way it was, to keep the RCC out.
Many Protestants went to great lengths, for that very reason to keep the RCC out of the United States and out of our Government.
