I just took a trip into the slime pit elsewhere.
Now they are trying to claim that the Bril-UP trial will have to be re-done with a control group.
I would call BS but people would accuse me of making a heartless pun.
HOWEVER:
The guy who is spewing this garbage claims to be a doctor. I call BS on that claim -- because:
I find it hard to believe that an ethics committee would approve a clinical trial in which a control group was given an extremely unpleasant invasive procedure (remember HOW they are administering the Bril -- retention enemas). It's perfectly reasonable to give people ONLY the real drug, and compare their symptoms after the clinical trial to the well-documented normal progress of this disease. It is a lie to say that all clinical trials have to have control groups -- simply not true. Comparison to large numbers of patients who have not been treated (and NOT given an incredibly invasive placebo) is an alternate and acceptable method.
