The founding of
This country and many were done on slave labor...
Good model in US is Amish. Which takes us back to the 1800's. Amish farmer's today have large families. The larger the farm the more kids they have to run the farm. Most farms are 100-300 acre's.Then you had plantations in the 1800's where farmer's farmed 1000's of acre's this required cheap labor, enter slavery. Slavery was outlawed so that translated into share croppers. They were paid with a roof over there head and a portion of the harvest. Fast forward to today and migrant workers. Just another method of slavery in most cases worse than the 1800's.
So NO. There should be no such thing as a migrant work force. Farmer's will either have to employee technology or pay a living wage to those that bring in the harvest. There re very few crops in the US that in reality require migrant labor .
Is or would this be a popular...No. It forces Owners to spend money.
