Stock futures edge higher as traders eye Fed
FRANKFURT (MarketWatch) — U.S. stock index futures logged small gains Tuesday as investors turn their attention toward the start of a two-day meeting of Federal Reserve policy makers that’s expected to provide further monetary stimulus, while keeping an eye on talks aimed at avoiding the “fiscal cliff.”

S&P 500 Index futures (GLC:SPZ2) rose 2.5 points to 1,422.70. Futures on the Dow Jones Industrial Average (CBOT
JZ2) advanced 27 points to 13,214. Nasdaq 100 futures (CME:NDZ2) rose 4.75 points to 2,655.25.
“Financial markets continue to trade sideways in an environment where headlines seem to have lost their bite.
