With Novavax stock cratering today the company is left suggesting that the disaster may have been caused by an unusually mild RSV season – an argument that, considering its claims just four months ago, seems surprising.
On yesterday’s call to discuss the failure of RSV F Vaccine in the phase III Resolve trial Novavax said it had seen the lowest RSV (respiratory syncytial virus) attack rate on record. This might have accounted for the difference between its successful phase II trial and the Resolve failure, it claimed.
