Wildcats go down in OT
4 hour game. 2:57 left on clock 4th quarter, 7-7 . We go into a 2 hour lightning delay. Wildcats come back from delay. Stop drive of other team. Wildcat get ball back with 1:37 left on the clock, drive ball down to 27 yard line with 6.9 sec left they go for a 47 yard field goal. Kicker now cold, sitting for 4 hours, he gets iced twice more by the opposing coach. Finally, kick up and away inline... falls 3 feet short. OT. Each team gets 4 downs from the 10 to score in OT. Wildcats up 1st, drives ball to the 4. 3rd down QB gets sacked on the 12. Kicker comes in and puts a 25-30 yard goal in. Wildcats up by 3. Opposing team turn. Wildcats stuff opposing team 3 times. 4th down opposing team runs sweep LB meets QB on 2...hard hit out of bounds. Should be a Wildcat win.
No...Official give QB the reach for the score. There was no reach. Wildcats loss 10-13 in OT. Games that started at 7 PM closes at 11 PM .
Wildcats came to play ...just a little short. 2-2, playoffs still in sight. Son was a captain on the team for the night. What a honor for a sophomore.
