It isn't necessary to have a high volume to attract interest - what people care about most is seeing the price uptick on scanners - as evidenced by some of the better handled runs up off of a .0001 ask over the last several weeks.
When people see the price moving up on the scanner or L2, they want to see the ask at the current / next level being significantly less than the amount that has self-evidently been loaded at a lower price by those seeking to run it up - regardless of their interest in the long-term future of the company.
The early entry people not stacking the ask in advance is the key to success - as evidenced by the VPOR example in stickey # 853.
