Yes - I became her caring step dad
when she was about 4 years old.

She has always been a great person.

She started off with a shit father but
with a very loving mother. We 3 together
have made things work with good and
sincere dedication.

One day when about 4 years old she
witnessed a killing right outside their apt door..
With that incident I said that is enough and it is
time to come live with me in a house with true
acceptance and provision and attention.
Thankfully mom said ok - we had already
started dating. Getting married a year later.

The idea has been to make sure after her poor
start that there was a providing loving stable 'home'.

I consider that a big deal, a proper home.
I didn't have one that lasted.
So I know what it is worth !!
My wife feels exactly the same way.
