That's funny I have a cash account with another institution with 200 free trades a year and don't have to wait 3 days after a trade. When I talked to them about a margin account three said it was pointless for me if I wasnt margin trading.... guess we have had different experiences. If 95% of retail is in margin accounts they are more likely day traders and shortd not investors, from what I understand.
