My dad once said as a carpenter...
Spec's said studs 12" on center
Then it became 16" on center
Then 18" on center...some even stretch it to 24" on center...
"Good enough"... the buyer will never know...
Resulting in contractor's stealing enough material ever 3 homes built, to build a home at no cost other than labor....
This is why a hammer cost $700 for the government to buy...Theft
