You are confusing Socialism with Social Contracts. For example;
"Police forces, fire fighters, roads, education....these are all socialist programs. Previously police forces and firefighters were privately engaged....roads were private, and education was provided only to those willing and able to pay for it"
That(plural) is not Socialism...that is a Social Contract. A private road with several homes on it is deemed a social contract when a plan is implemented in order to maintain such. It may be private...but a collective group comes together and forms a Social Contract in order to maintain said road. When you go beyond a social Contract for the Sovereign...and become a nation of Sovereign based on Socialistic principles instead of Capitalistic principles....then you are doomed!
Socialism is a very evil thing...........a Social Contract is a very just thing. Refer to Rousseau.
