Kevetrin was in Phase 1 clinical trial for safety, not efficacy. Anecdotes about people surviving much longer than the normal course of their disease are not proof of efficacy -- that comes at later stages. We know that Kevetrin is safe, and that some people survived a lot longer than expected. Proof of efficacy comes later on.

I thought the article was poorly written. There were a couple of places that I read and thought "wait? what?" and then saw that the author had just written in an odd way.
