You only need one laptop or desktop and two monitors. You can extend the second screen in Windows control manager for displays. Then you can have a document on your laptop and one on the secondary screen. At work I use two screens and my laptop to manage documents and reference one while getting information from the other. It is really cool when you drag one document to the other screen. Looks like magic.
