He states that the CTIX team was already working on a new formulation for K so no way of knowing how far along they are but knowing Leo and Dr Mennon this is not a new development and they likely started it months ago.
I also like the rationale for the animal studies. They can quickly be done behind the scenes and help Dr. Mennon tweak the delivery of K for that indication. You have to remember that he is a veterinarian and that is one of his special talents that he brings to the table. Throughout his career he used that experience to develop drugs and it's coming in handy right now.
