I agree. Large tech companies, bio-tech and pharmaceuticals especially, have been utilizing that strategy for years. Let the small company assume all of the expense and risk in launching a brand or portfolio. They keep their eye on the prize, and if it reaches the desired status, they swoop in for the guaranteed profits that come with buying the company. Very little risk since all they need to do is mostly allow the same people to apply the same talents. Then they inject capital to leverage those assets for maximizing the potential.
