Chicago is alive and well.
My dad was a construction Sup, in Chicago, with 7 Union cards to work; Registered Republican and 32 degree master, not a easy task in a Democratic world. Then someone pulled a master pin on a scaffolding he was on. He survived, but left Chicago. My Uncle was a 33 degree Grand Master Registered Republican. When I ran for political office as a Registered Republican in Illinois, I got a FBI badge flipped on me for removing Democratic political signage off my business right of way, which the signage violated my lease agreement. Needless to say I had the Democratic Central Committee member almost on his knee's apologizing to me. That was like swatting a wasp after it was all said and done in the state of Illinois. However there are a few Republican Operatives left in Illinois.
