You can be 'categorical' in your denial of the suitability of that if you like, but it's coming!
Sanders moved both Hillary and Obama in that direction. The three of them will be campaigning on the same Dem Platform that calls for strengthening SS.
I'll look forward to the debates wherein Trump says, 'No, we don't need to do that'.

Another thing, much overlooked. The 'velocity of money' in the economy.
The more going out in $SS, to more people, the more things are bought and paid for.
As with SNAP benefits, SS benefits travel through the economy like sh*t though a goose!
